Some people would argue that \u2018venting\u2019 is healthy. Others would say anger projects \u2018power\u2019 and \u2018confidence\u2019 and can many a time get you what you want! Yes, \u2018bottling up\u2019 emotions is unhealthy, yet releasing them in ways that are uncontrolled is not the solution. And \u2018angrily\u2019 getting needs met by being intimidating breeds \u2018fear\u2019 and \u2018hatred\u2019 in others rather than \u2018respect\u2019 and \u2018understanding\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experiencing anger by itself isn\u2019t harmful, good, or bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing it in an unproductive manner is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing anger passive \u2013 aggressively, or aggressively not only negatively impacts relationships and careers but also affects the mental and physical well being of the person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Managing anger isn\u2019t about \u2018not feeling angry\u2019 at all! It is about understanding the \u2018feeling\u2019 behind the emotion and expressing it in a \u2018controlled\u2019 manner so that the \u2018need\u2019 behind the \u2018feeling\u2019 has a stronger chance of being met, without adversely affecting the relationship, the person experiencing it, or the surrounding environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coaching in anger management helps individuals manage their emotions positively and constructively, by enabling them to understand their emotions; and provides them with strategies and techniques for identifying signals and coping with \u2018triggers\u2019 . I , as a certified life coach, use an insightful questioning approach to manage the clients\u2019 perspective of situations, and work with my client to identify productive counter approaches and responses in sensitive scenarios and situations. Empathy, assertive communication, stress management, expectation management, judgement, and impulse control are some of the areas that I explore during coaching conversations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coaching helps clients communicate their emotions more assertively so that they are able to enjoy and manage, and benefit from, relationships and the professional and social environment around them better.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anger is a very powerful, yet normal and common emotion.
